Colleen P. Ditro, DNP, CPNP

Colleen Ditro is a Pediatric Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner at The Nemours Foundation/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. She is the Skeletal Dysplasia Coordinator and the Lead Nurse Practitioner in Orthopaedics. In addition, Dr. Ditro is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health in The Newborn Nursery and an adjunct faculty member at West Chester University.

Dr. Ditro holds a Diploma of Nursing from St. Luke’s School of Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s degree in Nursing from Gwynedd-Mercy College and a Doctorate of Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. She has experience in clinical care of the orthopaedic patient specifically children with a skeletal dysplasia, newborn care, lactation consulting and teaching undergraduate nursing students. She is the recipient of the Marie Des Barres Nurse of the Year Award, The Susan Schrand Award for Advocacy on the Local, State and National level and the Abington Memorial Hospital Nurse Excellence Award.

Dr. Ditro is a member of The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, serving as one of the Members-at-Large, co-chair of Alliance for Care Coordination of Children in Human Trafficking; executive board member of The Pediatric Orthopaedic Practitioner Society and a member of The Medical Advisory Board of the Little People of America.

Dr.Ditro’s professional interests are in the area of skeletal dysplasia and child advocacy.
